I would have posted to gallery, but have no idea the model. And the Joss archive has gone away.

Anyone recognize this cue? Possibly early 80's.

Mid to late 1980’s

model 17

guessing it has Joss in gold letters at the joint? If it has white lettering at the joint I may be incorrect.

The logos are gold and match when tight.

Thought white letters were for customs. Got that from reading here, though, not from experience.

So, when would the gold logo appear? The info I have is all from searching AZB.

Is there anyone disputing this is a J-17? If not, can someone tell me when this cue was made (roughly), please. As I noted, the Joss archive cannot be accessed.

Thanks

Later 80's-early 90's. I've seen your cue with white letters and 84-17 in the collar. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/joss-j-17-made-in-84-for-f-s.26223/ This cue may have been in their line-up a while. You might call Dan and just ask him directly.

Editing this post. My old eyes deceived me.

I have 2 catalogs that show a model 17. The name of the series is “The Joss Collection” in both catalogs.

the first catalog (poster) has white lettering at the joint. The model 17 in the poster does not match your cue.

the second catalog has gold lettering at the joint. In the second catalog they reference the movie the color of money so I believe this catalog is post 1986. The model 17 does match your cue.

The next series I am aware of was the custom series and I think it came out in came out in the early 1990’s. Maybe 1993. The reason I believe this is because I have a price list for the custom series dated 1993.

I believe the age of this cue to be approximately 1986 to 1993 or so. May be later than 1986 since I have seen white letter cues dated 1986.

unfortunately this site won’t let me upload images because the file size is too large.

i am not an expert and I am piecing bits of information from catalogs and cues I own or have seen examples of.

Pictures below are from the poster. The model 17 does not match your cue. These have white lettering at the joint.

Next post will have pictures of the other catalog.

Here are pictures of the other Joss Collection catalog. These were marked with gold letters at the joint.

The model 17 appears to match your cue.

Sorry for the confusion.
