Thanks in advance for the responses. I was wondering first, why does a player continue to shoot after the game has been decided? 2nd, watching a match just a second ago, and one player was hooked in the corner pocket, kicked twice at a red and missed. Then the other player, instead of shooting at a red, shot the yellow, then a black, back to the yellow. Why did he not have to shoot at a red instead of starting on the yellow?

1. Match has not been decided.
Opponent must concede the frame, unless there are no balls left.
Keeping your opponent away from the table so he can't get a feel for the table is a good tactic, so keep on shooting.
Normally tournaments have a prize for the high run.
World snooker has an accumulating prize for 147.

2. When a player misses, his opponent has options:
Have the balls replaced and make him shoot the same shoot again
Have the balls remain as they are and make him shoot again.
Have the balls remain as they are ant take the shot himself.
If the cue ball can't hit both sides of the object ball, the incoming player can nominate any ball as a substitute.

Thank you greatly. I guess as much about continuing the run, but had no clue about the colors.
