New to the forums and saying hello

I've played RP. It's ok. It's more of a bar with a few pool tables, than a pool hall that happens to have a bar. I favor the latter.

I'm playing sharpshooters tonight. They have a local 8ball tourney I might play in. Either way, if you show up, we'll have a few games. I'll be wearing a hat that says "Yow!"

RP Billiards is actually in the same building that Highland Cue used to be in. I think one of the reasons they haven't expanded their tables yet is that they can't shake the reputation of Highland Cue =/

Such a nice location too... it's sad that no one visits because of what it used to be.

And thank you 8-ball, jimmy, and welcome general :)

Where do you play at rib? The fellow that runs Players looks like your avatar and last Sunday I even asked if it was him, lol.[/QUOTE]

Don't play much around here cause I can't get lock up action.

Still play 5 minutes a week or so.......enough to beat SBR.

Havn't been behind the counter at PLAYER's since I sold it sometime time ago. My "look" has gotten popular and maybe imitation is a form of flattery.

I did the equipment layout for the original owner of SHARPSHOOTERS (DOYLE), what do you think of it? Havn't been there in a while but I might come by tonight. I won't be wearing my hat, not needed there
.

rib, I will spot you the 8 if you wear the hat ^^

And yeah Yow, they only have 3 biggies and one bar box. The tables are very nice though, and what I like most is the fact that no one ever goes in there to play pool =/

Yes, I know it sounds screwy saying I like the fact my favorite place to play pool doesn't get many players, but it helps me concentrate on my practice when it's quiet in the room... and RP is a very very respectable place that never gets any loud yelling or crowded people. The actual bar is through the door on the far left hand wall that leads into the adjacent building (RP Tracks).

I kind of liked their idea in splitting the pool hall and the bar up... now if they could just get a few more tables in the back room by the patio ^^

I thought RP tracks was around the corner next to the tiger bookstore. Last I was in RP billiards there were 3 tables to the left, a full bar to the right, and darts/barbox down the hall straight ahead. (A year ago or so.)

I'm going up to sharpshooters later. Rib, lemme shake your hand if you get a chance. Always nice to meet a fellow poster.

RP bought the building dirrectly next to them and opened both of them up, where you can walk through a door to get to both of the sides.

The lounge side does have a full bar, y es... but they don't allow a "bar scene" on that side as far as I know... they will tell you to take the noise to the patio or to the bar they own next door.

And yes, they still have 3 to the left, one bar box in the middle room by itself, and the karaoke, etc are in the back (down the hall past the bathrooms).

Played in the 8 ball tourney at Sharpshooters and took 3rd. I love my OB-1. I'd've taken it all the way but (insert good excuse here, e.g. I got tired). First tourney I've played in in a while too.

Glad to hear you did well at your tourny :D

I got reemed last night by Justin at High Pockets =) I made a few decent shots, and I actually ran 3 balls (which for me in 9-ball is quite good), but I was just missing some of the most basic shots.

It was quite fun, however... and I'll be going back up there tonite. Heck I was enjoying myself so much I screwed around and stayed until almost midnight when I had to wake up at 5am =/

Thanks for the games J, and I hope I get to see you before you move! Sucks we only got to meet 3 days before you leave =/

Anywho, I'm off to get cleaned up and hit the hall before it gets too late tonite...

Anthony
