My friend Robert Colby is designing this software and is in the final stages. I saw a prototype and it is pretty nifty. It even prints out the scoresheets for the players to keep score at their tables. Here is a list of what it can do:
The following is a list of the main features of Turna-Chart.
• Full MS Windows compatible format. (Win ME or later required.)
• Runs Tournaments for Single, Double Elimination, & Round Robin.
• Tournament sizes from 8 to 1024. (Will be expanded to 2048 by March 2007)
• Full Database including: Name, Picture, Sport, Statistics, Category, Class, Rating, Points, Address, Phone #s, Notes and Bio information for Players & Teams. Team entry includes a member’s list.
• Database includes Employee information, with four levels of database security, including User ID and User Passwords: Manager, Input/Update, Data Entry, & Guest. Manager has full control over Employee User information. Database security can be turned on or off.
• Automatic BYE insertion, for every bracket.
• Automatic Player/Team Seeding.
• Automatic Player movement.
• Automatic BYE advancement.
• Complete detailed tournament information including: Event location information, Sport, Size, Payout, Calcutta, Promoter, Tournament Director & Phone, Start Date/Time, Cutoff Date/Time, Event Duration, etc.
• Detailed entry list information including: Total Entries, Total Paid Entries, Added $, Total Prize, Total Calcutta, etc.
• Graphic display of the bracket allows PgUp/PgDn or scrolling of the bracket; Separate Winner’s/Loser’s bracket views; Match Tracking includes: Total matches, Matches completed and an on-time or overtime Tournament duration indicator; Time/Location entry, entry locator, match winner and loser movement, match score entry.
• Chart display player location feature that allows the TD to locate and move to any player/team’s last position in the bracket.
• Location tracking that prevents assigning a location that is in use.
• Multiple location data entry form, which allows you to enter multiple types of match location information, i.e. Court for tennis, Table for Billiards, Field for Baseball/Softball, etc.
• Optional Seeding feature. (Can be turned on or off)
• Optional Calcutta information and Payout calculation. (Can be turned on or off)
• Advanced Automatic Payout calculation procedure that is user adjustable. Payout percentages are stored in the database and are reusable.
• Detailed reports including: Tournament detail, tournament flyer, tournament statistics, Tournament payout, Calcutta payout, Entry list, Player/Team detail, Mailing labels, and Player/Team statistics. Chart Reports including: Winner’s bracket & Loser’s bracket grouped by sheet. All Chart reports can be printed on tractor feed paper or using an ink jet printer with legal size paper.
• Chart reports larger than 128 are in a modified format that is equivalent to a standard bracket of the same size. The large bracket format is easier to display and use.
• All Reports have an active filter feature built in that allows you to filter and print select record sets or filter then select specific records to print.
• Simultaneous Multiple Tournament management is built into Turna-Chart.
• Import/Export: Use to import or export entry table (Player/Team) information.
• Turna-Chart Demo will be available by Jan 15, 2007.
