look forward to hearing the input !

Steve, thanks for posting the video!!!

i have one question right at the beginning of the video, as someone who's been Studying patterns really hard, but doesn't necessarily Implement them so well. ;)

your 3rd shot is a beauty, nudging out a break ball perfectly. then i was surprised to see you shoot the 1-ball up table, instead of shooting the 15 -- which would open up All the balls -- and Then shoot the 1 as the next shot.

as it turned out, you got kinda funny on the 2 after that but made it And spun the cue ball into position in a way i could only dream of. so i guess it all worked out, given your chops, but i'm wondering if there's a strategy going on here that's just completely over my head, or whether it was the percentage way to play the layout, or what?

and once again: thanks! the videos people share here are at least as valuable to me as the examples of perfection by Schmidt/Engert/Hohmann/Souquet/Sigel/etc that i've bought, because they show play and choices that might someday be within my reach if i work hard enough and learn enough. so i greatly appreciate your effort in posting it and being willing to chat about it!

Thumbs Up

Stevie, very nice.
Like I stated in my Instructional video. A player might make the shot when stretching but almost every time they will not get their position. In this case stretching ended the run.
You looked good. Great playing table, the balls were moving around with ease. If we only had rooms down here like in NY, it would be a dream come true. Enjoyed the video, looking forward to more.

Bob. i didnt shoot the 15, because that would of got me to high on the 10 ball which would of made me run into the 4 & 5 which already have a pocket.

at the time of this video i was still feeling a little sluggish on a few shots from prior games and it was just starting to click again.

thanks for the compliments....balls were opening nicely, about a hour before this video i had my set of Aramith Tournament balls run through the Ball-Star polisher, the balls were glowing when they came out of the rinse cycle.

right, i see. but i was thinking you'd play the 15 with some low-left and then have your choice of the 1 or the 2, depending on the exact shape you got, to come down for the 10.

would that have been a bad choice, or just a different choice?

Bob,

you may be right....but i always keep in mind something that Danny DeLiberto says. "Why Play Shape when you already have it." and i thought that as well when i played the 1 Ball. i figured that was one less piece to the puzzle.

i am uploading the next video now to vimeo. should be up in a little while. i will reply with it when its ready to go !

Thanks
-Steve

Here's the next one !!!

this one has a guest appearance by Cooney, dont you love the service that i get....nice of him to cause a little distraction...LOL i messed up the end pattern anyways and paid for it by the position i ended up in.

should of played the ball in the side, the the ball in the corner as the keyball to the behind the rack breakshot. had a rough time all day with that pocket with those types of shots with speed though. so thats why i opted against it !!
