New Years Resolution

I don't need the loosest table possible.

I don't need one that gives up balls on the break.

For the 10,000th time - I NEED A TABLE THAT WILL GIVE ME A RUNNABLE SPREAD AFTER THE BREAK! A TABLE THAT ISN'T JINXED!!!

For whatever the reason my GCIV just never seems to do that. And it's been a problem for the most part for 23 years now as it was delivered in the early part of January of 2003.
Has anybody else ever run out on it? Maybe you just suck, did that ever occur to you in 23 years? Nah, gotta be the table 🤦‍♂️

I have a GC4 and Diamond Professional. I cannot make a solid break on either. I struggle to run a rack, I have good-bad days. I'll never amount to anything. I do not compete, play for $$. I quit 100times. I should buy a 3x6 table with 6" pockets. I'm not an Indian, have a lot of arrows.... question is?....does anyone here give a fk?

Obviously, Mosconi was a stone-cold killer on any equipment. But the recommendation that Dr Cue's Protege find the loosest table possible reminded me of Old Has Been, one of my favorite posters of yesteryear.
Yes, and a great player, himself.

I normally don't make any New Years Resolutions but I think I am going to this year. And that is to not break any more racks of 9B on my Gold Crown IV. I am just sick of all of this. I just broke 26 times (2026) and only had one really good chance to run out.
Sounds like you need to alter you break (like Corey Duel) so that you have more run out possibilities.
This is the opposite of not breaking any more, BTW...

I've got a new years resolution for you. Buy a Taom maxrack for 9 ball. And a new set of Aramith balls. Then rack them, 1 ball on the spot. Put the cue ball 1 ball off the rail on the head string (barely legal). Rail bridge. Hit the 1 ball dead center at about 80% of your max stroke. You should make the wing ball. And the 1 ball should track towards the side opposite your break. Maybe make it or not. But pay attention to where it hits on the side rail. Likely it will hit just below the side pocket and track toward the corner where you broke from. Now adjust you speed and aim point to plan for a shot on the 1 ball.

Can anyone explain the physics or reasons a certain type of table inherently yields consistently un-runnable layouts? Explain it to me as if I’m as dumb as I actually am.
