Newb with a "help Cue ID" post :)

Lots if looks and no ideas?

Cue appears to be a conversion.

Points are uneven and the but is heavy.

ML is engraved on it as shown.

cue id

may be a mike lancaster,if it is,it's an early one, made longer as he did in the beginning and from a house cue.the one thing that is throwing me is the sloppyiness of the M L ,mike was normally very neat.he is from sw va. and sold a lot of his cues locally and around the charlotte n.c. area.

It plays very well and feels ver balanced for as heavy it is.

Ill need to put it on the scales at work Monday.

The M L is sloppy and (being a coin guy) looks like a mis-strike to me.

Butt ~ 20.48 oz (yeah its heavy lol)
Shaft ~ 3.84 oz

The ML looks very much like (minus the mis-strike) a early Mike Lambros.

I found one pic of a cue for sale here on AZB from years ago and only one other on the net.

I've been in contact with Mike Lambros about this cue. After a couple of emails and providing him with a few specifics he replies:

“The letter sizes are correct. I do not think I struck the dies off the right leg. I tried to keep them off the left leg of the M.
But saying that, the pin is right, and I did make a heavy break stick with a steel joint for a local player.
The rings look right, and so does the accent mini-butt sleeve of died maple.
I am not certain but it may be one of my 1st 20 or so cues ever made.
The finish could be the real tell. It should not be very good. Lots of swirl marks and almost a flat sheen compared to todays finishes.
That is unless it has been refinished ?
Sorry I can't be more definite.
Mike L.”

The two other ML cues I’ve found vary slightly with the placement of the “L” one is more centered, the other is further to the right as shown here:

This cue came from MD Mike is out of MD.

I did tell him the weight but never mentioned that it’s a hell of a break stick. I’ve been using it as on from just about day one.

I think the stick has some value.

Thoughts?
