So, I have an old Huebler. I think it might have an ivory ferrule, is there a way to tell? Also it is a 13mm shaft and I want to have it turned down to 12.3mm can this be done without destroying it?

Usually the Heublers that said Heubler custom shop on the bottom of the butt cap where the bumper sits, had ivory ferrules. The other ferrule used was a fiber.
Yes it can be turned down. It would be a plus if it's straight before turning it down. If it's not, it would depend how much it's off whether turning it down would tru it up.

It's a vertical stamp, not a custom shop. I figured it was fiber then an inebriated man of unknown qualifications got my hopes up. lol
Thanks for responding

It could have been changed to ivory. If it has grain then maybe it was. Fiber had no grain.

Is the ferrule pretty shiny and clean looking? Does it have grain lines in it? If yes to both it is probably ivory. If no to both it is probably not.
