Next book or DVD recommendation?

I just finished reading Basic Pool by the late Cranfield and Moy. It was a good, basic book and I'm happy it was my first book on the subject. I'm however left with the feeling that there is a world more to know. I also thought it was a little light on practice drills.

My question to you is what book or dvd would you recommend next?

Thanks, but I'm more looking for instructional type of content. I definitely watch matches on youtube, though.

Pool books as far as instructional i recommend a mind for pool. A good story about pool running the table. I just read practice perfect and it not so much a pool book but it goes into how to practice the correct way. I just add pool to it. Good luck

The 2 must have DVD's for straight pool/14.1 1st is Accu stats Oliver Ortmann Player review aginst Earl Herring . Ortmann runs a 150 and tells you what he is thinking .2nd is John Shmidt's how I run the 100's ,most informative DVD I have ever seen IMHO !

Byrnes standard book of pool and Billiards-read it SLOWLY-stop at each chapter, and TRY the things he's explaining, understand fully and try to master each concept, instead of blowing thru the book and forgetting everything you just read.

Then, next year, get...Byrnes advanced tequnique book- there's SOOO MUCH info in these books, these two books would make you a masters player if u truly could do and understand everything he's teaching in them.

The only thing missing after that...is the mindset...
Soooooo, the third year, get the book...a mind for pool, by Phil capelle...
Your all set...anything else is just gravy on top!!!!!!!!

There's a lot of really great authors and books out there, these are just a few of my favorites.

So far my 2 favorite video sets are the Buddy Hall 9 ball (he has 2 that I know of, both are good) and just about anything by Bert Kinister. I suggest tape 20 which is the Advanced 60 minute workout, and the first 60 minute workout which is one of the first ones he made. I liked tape 30, how to deal with hanging balls and the Mighty X which is 12.

Allen Hopkins video Secrets of a Champion is also good, and I just watched CJ Wiley's Ultimate Pool Secrets (thanks for sending that for my son CJ!), that was very well done.
