You don't see Allison let her stroke out very often, but she played this 4 rail position shot yesterday. Nice shot.

Yah purdy awesome, show the one, One of The Many Uses of A Pocket, i loved that shot, how the cueball hit the titties of the pocket and came out perfect for the seven.

Was the angle on the 8 a little steeper than you showed in the diagram? I don't understand why she would play that shot. And that's not a stroke shot, but it is fancy.

Yeah, I agree it's not really a stroke shot. I can't remember the exact angle. I was surprised that she played it that way though.

It's different to see the shot in the diagram and then see it on an actual table. I am guessing the reason she played it is that she had a steep angle on the 8, and to get 1 rail position for the 9 on the short side she had to hit it too soft and didn't want to roll the ball to the hole. The angle was probably too thin for her to draw with low outside to come 1-2 rails for position on the opposite side. Her percentages on that shot were fairly high, because as long as she strikes it the way she intended, the cueball will be rolling towards the 9 after coming off the 4th rail.

It wasn't very steep because I remember her stroking it pretty hard. Anyway I agree with "coming into the angle" whenever possible.

It was a little different, and a very pretty shot. It looked like an unsual shot selection except that the table was playing very fast, and I don't think she felt comfortable trying to hold the ball back. Plus, that looks like a fairly common shot/approach for snooker.

I wonder

If this shot was made at the IPT tournament it would not have been very good at all. Only because why would she shoot the 8 ball in first to get position on the 9 ball. Its funny how we are so engrained with 9 ball that this must have been a diagramed this way out of force of habit.

Anyhow she must have made a wonderful shot and I glad to here that she did pretty well.

It was diagramed this way because the game was 9ball. You see, in 9ball the balls must be "potted" in numerical order. :D :eek: :D

When are you coming south again man?
<OT>
Hey. Sorry, I haven't had much of a chance lately. It's been busy up here with work and such, plus Amber and I got engaged, woot. I probably wont be that way until after Christmas, unless you count driving through on the 21st or so on the way to TX.

You know, you could come up north too. There's a 1p tourney at Table Steaks (south) this Sunday at Noon (1st Sun. of every month). I usually show up there to watch some of the action. Just don't bring that Skip you've got for sale or I'll be too distracted trying to offer you used roller skates, chinese leftovers, or free tech support in an effort to pry it away from you.:p

Shoot now I am confused myself. I thought Allison played yesterday in the Kill of the Hill IPT tournament in Florida which if I remember correctly was an 8 ball tournament. If I am mistaken can you tell me which 9 ball tournament that Allison played in yesterday, was it a WPBA sanctioned event or other, if so which tournament was it in???? Thanks
