Hello:
I just wanted to mention that I had a very pleasant transaction with Bryan Fisher (Alaskin Assasin). He converted the joint type of three shafts (Predator Z, ACB & OB-1) for me. I very happy with the job he has done.
In addition, he examined the butt section of my Olivier cue. Sadly he confirmed the A joint is loose. He treated me very fair, describing the problem honestly and the process involved to have it fixed.
Maybe it is just my background (coming from Europe) that I do not know 'my local cuemaker'. Even asking around in the pool halls I normally use I found it difficult to find an answer to this question. So I asked here in the forum and Bryan was the only one who replied saying he would do this conversion for me. Thanks! :-) I would gadly use Bryan's services again and recommend to keep him in mind.

so your saying he removed the threaded insert and replaced it with a different one so you can use it on another cue?

wow.. what does something like that usually cost per shaft?

Hi Chis:

Yes, that is exactly what was done. And it is less as expensive as one would think. Some people charge more for certain layered tip replacements. Just ask Bryan.

thats very interesting. how about shafts without inserts, like converting a 3/8 10 to a radial thread joint? how would something like that come out?

That shouldn't be that much.....a local cue repair guy can do that for you. Plug the hole and retap it with radial. Of course it's not that simple but more or less it should be a quick turnaround and not too expensive.

Converting shafts.

Hello,

We do alot of shaft converting, alot of guys around my area alone have switched to play with our cues, but still want to use there predator shafts and don't want to buy a new one.

We can convert virtualy any shaft, please, no Schmelkes:( .

We are doing alot of cue costumizing. New joint pin (3/8-11, and G-10 is really popular right now), New Joint collars, Retapering shafts and building new shafts, new wraps, and refinished. I have about 7 project cues right now getting everything above done, not to mention 5 others, and some of my own.

If anyones interested in prices or have any questions, pm me, I'll get back to you asap.

Thanks for the interest
