Nick Varner Cue; What's it worth?

A friend of mine has a Nick Varner model NV-ANN1 cue (Shown below).

A stack leather wrap was added to it. It's in really good condition other than normal wear and tear on the ferrule. He claims it's worth $300+ and another friend of mine (who has no idea what it is) says it could be worth $900. I call bologna on $900. I've never even heard of Nick Varner having cues made, until I saw this one in person.

Anybody know anything about them or what they are worth?

This one is about $100 (at least what the guy is asking for it).
This is a similar looking cue for $170 http://www.ribbb.com/catalog_i408132.html?catId=23324

The one shown with a new wrap may be $200 if you add in the cost of the wrap. 300 new with wrap may be the retail price.

The thing came with a leather wrap so odd that someone would pay to re-do the leather wrap on a cheap cue.

Not much. Nick Varners are about $100 cues brand new. Here's a link to what's on ebay right now:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_kw=varner+cue

And here's a place that sells them new for $75.

Thanks, I didn't know Joss had a Nick Varner series. However, the cue in question is not one of them.

As much as I'd like to let him down and tell him it's not worth much, neither of these are reliable sources.

I'd say right around fiddy.

A stack leather wrap on firewood is worth at least fiddy tree anna haff

There was a booth at the expo that had a ton of them, and the ebay prices are right in line with what the price tags in the booth said.

That is more of what I was looking for. Just my impressions from the cue, the NV logo screams cheap.

The cue that you have pictured retails for $595.00. You can verify this by contacting Nick Varner Cues at 270-926-4248.

FYI: Nick Varner makes cues that range from $65.00 to $2,500.00.

I would strongly suggest reaching at to his company directly as they would be able to offer you the most accurate information regarding the cue in question.

NP. I knew it wasn't one of the Joss just thought I'd add some info to the thread. It's a decent looking cue but certainly doesn't come across as anything high-end.

I'll take some pictures of it Tuesday when I see him at our league match. He is looking to sell it locally, but nobody around here knows what it is lol.

World Champion series prices are also here http://www.ribbb.com/catalog_c23322.html The top of the line is over $300 new. Used would be about 1/2 that, maybe a bit more if someone likes the design.

If it plays good I'd think $200 to start is a good price seeing it was about $3-350 new. Still find it odd that they took a stock leather wrap and replaced it with another leather wrap. Unless it's the original wrap and the guy is saying it's a stacked leather wrap.

Probably made to the Players/Action cue quality which is not bad, and it's a nice design.

Wow, that's a much bigger range than I expected. All I saw at SBE were about 115 or so. Didn't mean to steer you wrong - I guess that guy just stocked up on the low end ones.

All of those ones with the NV logo are cheaper, I don't know which one would be over a few $100, unless it was the Joss models or something else.

I just bought 1 today. $599.00 retail plus the Predator shaft, both new unchalked. It's a wee bit light on the front end for me so I think this ones is gonna be up for sale.
