Nick won lag. Makes the 1 ad 3 on the break. The 2,4,7 is in a cluster on the top of the table. He has a combination on the 2-7, but missed it. Wang came to the table, played a very good carom position, using the 7 to get to the 4. Wang made teh 4 to break out the 5-8 cluster. Got a thin cut on the 5, but missed it thick while using the bridge. The 5's right at the mouth of the lower right pocket. Nick got a straight in shot, but he under-drew the shot and missed position on the 6. He kicked and left the 6 ball near the top right corner. Wang played an awkward shot bridging over the 8. The CB got tied up to the 7 but Wang played a great shot to cut the 7 in to the right side.

Apparently the lights went out! Some guy's shooting the lights out it appears. The ref called a time-out.

Game 2:
Wang scratched in the sie on teh break. Made 2 balls on the break. VD Berg got ball in hand, but missed a very makeable cut on the 4. The 4's hanging and Wang goes on to clear the rack.

Rack 3:
Wang made the 8 wing ball. The cb on the bottom rail with the cb near the right rail. Wang tried for a carom on the 9, but missed. Nick came to the table and has a clear shot on the 1 to the bottom right. 2 goes into the lower left. 3 to the top right. 4 along the rail to the lower left. Nick got position on the 5 for a combination on the 9. Nick made it. 2-1 Wang.

Game 4:
Nick made 2 balls on the break. Has a clear shot on the 1. The table's open and Nick goes on to run the rack easily go get to 2-2.

Game 5:
Nick broke and made the wing ball and 1 into the side. has good position on the 2. The runout was routine until Nick was short on drawing the cb for position on the 8 at the top of the table. Nick went for a long bank to the lower left, but missed, leaving Wang a long shot on the 8 near the upper left pocket. Wang nearly scratched in the right side pocket. The cb is on the rail and Wang missed the 9, leaving Nick an easy shot to go up 3-2.

Game 6:
Nick breaks and makes the 3 wing ball to the lower right. The CB is on the right side and the 1's a few inches away. Nick lines up a combination on the 9 and made it. Taugh combo.

Game 7:
Nick makes the wing balla nd 1 in the side. the CB's got a shot at an easy 2 into the lower right. 3 goes into the upper right and the 4 into the left side. 5 into the lower left and the 7 into the lower right. Nick, instead of drawing, pushed to get position on the 8 on the top rail. Nick goes up 5-2.

Nick made a 2 balls into the lower right pocket on the break. The 1 ball's near the right side and Nick made a thin cut, but slightly over ran position on the 2 near the bottom of the table. 2 was rattled in and Nick's got good shape on the 3 by breaking the 3-5 cluster. Nick goes on the take the 9 to go up 6-2.

Game 9:
Nick makes the wing ball again and has a shot on the 1 into the left side. Nick's not breaking hard, but is controlling the CB quite well on the break. The angle off the 1 brought the cb near the upper right pocket, while the 2 ball's near the 9 near hte lower of the table. He narrowly missed hooking himself on the 2. Made a very nice cut shot on the 2 and got good position on the 3. Nick goes on the clear the table. It really looks like Nick's got his game going and he's turning it on.

Rack 10:
Nick made the wing ball and the 1 ball to the left side. Can hit the 2 but can't make the shot. Nick tried a safety but left Wang a chance at a bank into the left side. Wang banked it in but over ran position on the 3, leaving himself a thin cut. Wang played safe and hooked the cb behind the 9 ball. Nick kicked with speed, but missed the kick. With the ball in hand Wang goes on to run the rest of the table it's 7-3 VD Berg.

Rack 11:
Wang makes the wing ball and has a cut on the 1 into the upper right. THe cb contacted the 4 and got a fortunate position on the 2. Wang missed a long cut on the 2 and leaves Nick a shot. The ball spread's not difficult and Nick clears to go up 8-3.

Rack 12: Nick broke but came up dry. He didn't leave a shot on the 1 and Wang played a push-out and tied up the 9 to the 5. Nick tried to play safe, and leaves the 1 on the top rail, with the cb near the end. Wang plays a safe and leaves the cb snookered. Nick played a masse and hit the 1, leaving Wang a hard shot at a combination on the 8 into the lower right. Wang played a disasterous shot and scatched the cb. Really weird way he played the shot. I think he probably didn't have his mind completely made up before taking the shot. The layout's not hard and Nick goes up 9-3.

Rack 13:
Nick made a ball on the break. The cb is in the middle of the table. The 1,2, and 8 are in a cluster on the top of the table. Nick played a 2 way shot and left Wang safe, with lots of distance between the cb and the 1. Wang played safe, but Nick can see a bit of the 1. Nick played safe and hooked the 1 behind the 2. Wang played a very nice kick safety and left the 2 balls at the oopposite ends of the table. Nick has a chance at a carom into the 7and he made the 7. The 1 needs a thin cut into the side and Nick got perfect shape on the 2. Nick goes on the clear the table. Nick got a funny angle on the 7 and scratched in the side after making the 7. It's 9-4 VD Berg.

Wang broke and made the 4 wing ball. Wang's hooked on the 1 by the 5 near the top end of the table. Wang went for a pushout but pushed the cb into an easy position for safe. Nick overhits the safe and leaves Wang a taugh long shot on the 1, with the cb on the end rail. Wang makes the long shot and narrowly gets position on the 2. Wang goes on to clear the table and gets to 9-5 VD Berg.

Rack 15: (missed the beginning of the rack)
Wang's got a funny shot with the cb nearly tied up to the 2. Wang pulls off a really nice shot and cuts the 2 a long way into the lower left pocket from the top of the table. Wang over hits the 3 into the side and over ran position on the 5. The 5 doesn't pass into the side and he's on the 50 yard line. BUT, apparenlty the ball does go into the side and Wang makes a testy cut into the side again. Wang's left with a funny bridge over the 8 and another thin cut into the side for the 6. Again Wang makes a really hard shot and gets position on the 7. Wang got perfect shape on the 8 and goes on the win the rack. 9-6 VD Berg.

Rack 17:
Wang breaks and makes the 5 wing ball. THe CB got kicked to the top rail and the 1's on the right side near the cb, but no pockets available. Wang played safe but over hits the 1 to leave Nick a glimpse at the right side of the 1. Nick playes safe, got extremely lucky not to scratch and got a fluke safety behind the 4 ball. Wang's fully snookered behind the 4 and a long way from the 1. Wang goes for a 3 rail kick and narrowly missed contacting the 1. WIth the cb in hand and a nice spread Nick clears the table to finally win the match 10-6.

If you told me a Dutchman was gonna be in the L16 I would of thought Feijen or Lely but Nick is showing us he's just as good as his countrymen.
