Tournament snooker tables have steel block cushions.
This is the first pool table I've seen that uses them.
But I have led a very sheltered life.

BCE made a steel-block 9-foot pool table years ago.
It was three piece slate ( 1.5 inches) with proper pool rubber.


I don't think Riley did any quality research.
With 5 pieces of slate and snooker rubber, this one aint gonna fly over here.
...and over-sized slate and the North American bolting system is superior,
at a lower cost.
