how many of you are old enough to remember the white ferrules with a black ring about 3/16 thick right under the tip? came as one piece items

I'd be in for a carbon fibre ferrule that's lighter and stronger than the "composite" white ones we have now. Has anybody tried that one? Couldn't find anything via search...

Do you mean a screw on tip like this?

Ordered a cue the other day - got it from Mueller and had them put on a black ferrule - not color, but not white. Paired with Kamui Clear Black tip
