Hello everyone. I wanted to thank all of you for your comments regarding the show. Even tho a few are negative, everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

I wanted to let everyone know about the current auditions we are holding, looking the players who will hustle their way to the 20g's!!

There has been a few questions about the show. The main one being: Is there a 20k prize on each show? Yes there is. Every episode will have a 20k prize winner!!

How bout 'No Limit we won't decide the game or restrict how many you play just bet it up and win the 20 k'? Please DO NOT make them play single games. This show isn't about pool at all if you are making them play races to 1. I wouldn't mind $1000 a game, at least that would be a 5 ahead set. PLEASE CHANGE THE FORMAT. I was talking about how great it is, but the format has to change somehow. 9-ball is fine, but noone in thier right mind bets $5000 on a single game.

Great Idea, Couple of questions/comments...

nolimit,

I think this is a great idea and I'm looking forward to the day it automatically pops up on my Tivo :) (I don't actually look for TV programs anymore)

I have a couple of questions though:
1) If a player is not able to turn down a challenge, then how will they be able to negotiate bets, spots, etc...
2) Why not use pro players? Is this a legal, marketing or budgeting decision?

And some comments:
I think the race should be determined as part of the woofing, but contrary to above opinion, please DONT make them play more than 3 or 5 games...I had to score a match last night between two amateur players (USPPA 50 & 60) and it took over an hour for the race to 5 with a 1-game spot.

Also, I don't know if it was mentioned here or not, but it might be good to have both a bar-box and a big table so that players could negotiate the venue as well.

Maybe the winner of the $20K or the whole series, could woof against a pro like Keith or the previous week winner and bet all or part of the wager similar to Jeopardy. Keith offering the 6-out if the player bets $10k for example. Smaller spot if they bet less etc...

Good luck and godspeed!

Cheers,
Regas

I am in my right mind and I would play you $5000 a game as long as it is their money!!!!!!!! What's wrong with that?

Thanx Eydie, maybe he will answer you. (Yes, I am STILL mad. ) Plus while you are at it could you also ask him if there will be any DC casting calls in the near future?

Thanx! :)

Amster... Amster... Dam... Dam... Dam...

I would have to say that Amsterdam would be a place to get a hoot if you were looking for one... Ohhhhh we are not talking about the one in Nederlands... Oops my bad...

i just got back from amsterdam, went with 4 friends, 2 male and 2 female. maybe about 50 people showed up, could have been more since i don't know how many were players and how many were there for the auditions.
they put you thru some paces in a skill test, looking for your cue ball control and how much juice you could get on the cb. followed this with an on-camera interview trying to get a feel for your personality. more flamboyant the better. they all seemed overly interested in whether you like to talk shit to your opponents or not. they seemed to take interest in 3 out of the 5 of us, a 30 yr old well built guy who's a strong b player, a real pretty and curvy girl , also about 30, who doesn't shoot real well but can play, and another 30 something girl, overweight but with a real nice stroke.

i did so-so on the skill test, ok on the interview, but i got the feeling they weren't too interested in an 50 year old grey haired guy. my other buddy, also a young guy and a good shooter, may have been hurt by his glass eye? 3 out of 5 of us making the next cut was cool, we were hoping that one of us would make it. cool experience, and a fun afternoon

The players on the show determine how much to bet on each game, I believe. They don't want them to be negotiating spots and playing races because that would take to long and they would have to edit out alot of the content and nobody wants any more editing than is necessary. Players have to accept a challenge from one another and then haggle a little over the wager. You are allowed to side bet with players on matches that you are not involved in. It should prove to be interesting. The show will not capture the whole essence of woofing and setting up a match but that is just not possible for a one hour episode. I hope it is a tremendous success.

Trizzat

i saw part of the pilot episode while at amsterdam, it had 5 players and a total of $25.000 in the game. it was hard to follow because the sound was off. it's as trizzat said. one game is played, money wagered between players and those sitting out can wager among themselves and/or the players. i saw 3 players of the original five, all about mid-twenties to thirties, one hottie in belly shirt, one hip hop guy, one no-neck with crewcut.

Yeah, i was talking about realism. I'd do just about anything with someone elses $5000. But give 4 people $5000 each and put them in a room with no rules and almost noone would be playing $5000 single games. Although now i know you don't have to bet the whole amount its not an issue.
