No Limit 9 Ball went really well last night. There were a lot of players from all over and as far away from Minnesota. Read the article here http://azbilliards.com/2000storyb.cfm?storynum=2446

If anyone gets the chance to audition, go for it. It was fun and the people were really nice. Jason was awesome, a really nice guy and so was the rest of the staff.

So did anyone ever figure out how they are defining Pro? Also what were your impressions of what they were looking for? How do you think this show will fare? I do know that feedback from the NY auditions were posted in a seperate thread, but it is nice to get diffrent opinions.

Thanx

I think Lil John should audition and see if he can't snap it all off.

Well, Gotta tell you I tried to figure stuff out to no avail. I think they tested everyone differently. No real rhyme or reason to what they did. My suggestion to anyone that is trying out for this audition is just be yourself.

I asked him how they were determining who was a pro and he absolutely would not tell me.

I can only hope that the show will do well. This could be the deal breaker that the sport needs, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will do well.

The show will need our support and it's up to everyone to watch and participate. ANY new television show needs viewers and THAT is what will make or break this oppertunity for the pool world.

I'm looking forward to its debut. Does anybody know about when the show will be airing?

Eydie, did Bob try out for the audition? How did he do?

JAM

Hey JAM! Bob did audition for the show. The only thing that he would tell me is that it wasn't what he expected. (The try out and all). He really didn't want to do it anyway, and of course, I pushed him to do it.

They would not give us ANY info on when the show was going to air. My feeling is that they don't know yet.

Thanx Eydie. :) I don't see what the secret is about defining Pro though.

JAM, from the info that I have seen inital film dates are next month. According to a poster on IP, the pilot has already been filmed...so the next filming should be the actual show. I'm not sure how long Hollywood takes from filming to the air date, I would say by September...that's when the new TV season starts, right?

i saw about a half an hour of the pilot while at the auditions in nyc amsterdam and it looked great. the purists will hate it, all the action on a single game, but it's a game show, dammit. also while there, i heard the show will be airing in june, sorry, but i don't recall the source, but i'm pretty sure it came from one of the staff.

Went to the audition in Chicago and heres my experience:

I went with a bunch of guys from my team. We shot around til our numbers were called. While we were shooting, some of the casting people were walking around the pool hall, probably taking mental notes...

Anyways, when our numbers were called, we went to the back part of the room and details of the show was explained to us. Then we went on to shoot around alittle before we get to go in for an interview. They have me making some ridiculous but make-able shots. But anyways, went into the interview and they asked the basic where you from, age, how often do you play etc.. I did ok but I think they were looking for 'colorful' people. Was told that they were looking for 44 people for the first season and if the show did well, they will bring another 240 people for the next. And they asked for my availability between Mar. 16th - Mar. 20th (Sucks coz Im planning to make my 1st trip to VF this year). If Im selected, they will call on Mar.1st.

The one part that was strange was when some players were asked to shoot shots during the interview while some didnt. With me, I just went in for the interview. One of my buddies (a girl) had to show them how she played... Wonder whats the deal with that...

Just wanted to know from those that did go to the auditions what you thought and share your experience.....I doubt they'd pick me so see you all in VF!!
