No longer for sale: Lucasi low-deflection maple shaft $179: Hybrid Zero Flexpoint Low-Deflection shaft — Uni-loc

Fits either uni-loc or, with adapter included, 5/16x18 cue butts

This is Lucasi’s higher quality, “Hybrid” shaft (the lower quality is “Custom”). Hybrid is low deflection because of its eight-piece radial construction. This shaft allows the same hit no matter which way you’re holding the cue. The Custom shafts, however, get low-deflection by boring a hole in the shaft.

Hits firm and has a different sound than the Cynergy carbon-fiber shaft.

The shaft can fit either uni-loc or 5/16x18 butt joints. It comes with an adapter to connect to 5/16x18 butts (adapter not needed if you have a uni-loc butt; the adapter is from Cue Extensions Plus). I tried out the adapter on my Players PSP20 butt and the connection to the Lucasi shaft was excellent.

The Hybrid shaft sells new for $380 (go to Lucasi’s website; adapter $49). Save some money and buy this excellent-condition shaft for $280 (without adapter) or $320 (with adapter).

1. I changed the Facebook posting. Buy shaft at https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/368842232595917
I deleted the old Facebook links because Facebook would not allow two listings.

2. I am not selling the shaft with the adapter on Facebook anymore. That Facebook glitch has prevented me from doing so. Still, if you want that adapter? Send me a message and we can work something out.

3. StevenA24 posted above a word: 5/16x14. StevenA24 probably meant that my sale-item title errs in claiming the shaft could fit a 5/8x16 butt. That is correct. The title should have stated that the 5/16x18 adapter allows the uni-loc shaft to connect to a 5/16x18 butt. StevenA24 likely erred himself when he wrote 5/16x14 --- he probably meant 5/16x18.

4. Just to be clear, my 5/16x18 adapter only connects a 5/16x18 butt to the uni-loc shaft. It does not connect a 5/16x14 butt to a uni-loc shaft. The two connections — 5/16x14 and 5/16x18 are not interchangeable.

PRICE DROPPED TO $179 with free shipping from the earlier $280! I must do this because of a fire-sale at Ebay where three new Lucasi shafts are selling for $195! Remember that the retail price for this shaft new is $380. The shaft on Ebay differs from mine in that the Ebay shaft has no collar. Odd because Lucasi’s website shows that the only hybrid shafts for sale have a collar. Perhaps this is just a cosmetic difference from mine and a website omission for that option or is this something else? I don't know.

The competing vendor’s three shafts will likely be bought soon. See them at https://www.ebay.com/itm/1862988275...d=link&campid=5335988529&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

Good luck.

Is there a way to tell the difference between a Lucasi LD shaft and a regular 'Zero Flexpoint' shaft that's not LD? It seems like both are called Zero Flexpoint.

You are right. All the shafts on the Lucasi website are Zero Flexpoint. As to those that are LD and those that are not? If you rely only on the information on the Lucasi website, the low-deflection shaft can only be the Hybrid shaft ---the higher quality and the more-expensive shaft. Sellers on Ebay, however, use what appears to be Lucasi advertising material to describe a Custom shaft that is low deflection See image attached.

Forgetting the low-deflection confusion for a moment, Lucasi describes the HD shaft as a superior shaft to the Custom shaft. Compare below Lucasi's lengthy description of the greater effort required to make a Hybrid shaft versus its two-paragraph description of how it makes its Custom shaft. Another poster on AZBilliards asked for a chart of the deflection properties of all shafts and how there isn't such a chart. Such a chart would help clear up confusion on this issue.

Lucasi HYBRID shafts as described on Lucasi website:
Lucasi Hybrid pool cues combine unprecedented designs and quality workmanship with cutting-edge technologies to create the highest performance pool cues in billiards. Through exhaustive testing, Lucasi has identified the best features to bring you more accuracy, greater ball control, a more solid hit, less vibration, reduced deflection and a smoother stroke with every shot.

Cue Butt Technology Lucasi Hybrid cues feature a four-piece butt construction that brings increased durability and consistency and reduces vibration to give you a true feel for the shot and solid hit.

G5 Grip Technology Golf style grip technology provides unprecedented traction and stability for increased ball control.

X-Shox Dampening System Lucasi Hybrid’s patent pending shock-absorbing memory foam integrated in the wrap reduces vibration by more than 27% giving you a truer feel on every shot and decreases shot distortion.

Total Sweet Spot Construction (TSC) Each Lucasi Hybrid shaft is assembled using an eight-piece radial construction extending the sweet spot throughout the entire shaft which transfers the energy more efficiently for unmatched power, consistency and ultimate control.

Lucasi CUSTOM shafts described on Lucasi website:
Lucasi Custom Pool Cues offer players the absolute BEST VALUE of any pool cue on the market. Lucasi Pool Cues are made using only the finest quality woods with each piece being cured and turned for up to 2 years before being treated with a patented wood stabilizer to protect the cue and assure that it will not warp for the lifetime of the cue.

These cues are finely crafted with laser precision and feature some of the best materials available including Uniloc Quick-Release or Radial joints, XTC High Impact ferrules, genuine leather or Irish Linen wraps, premium Tiger Everest layered leather tips, and a high gloss finish that could make a Ferrari blush. Lucasi Custom Cue also features an extra long 15 inch Pro-taper that allows the shaft to slide more consistently through your hand for a better stroke and feel for each and every shot! We are so sure that you will love your new Lucasi cue that we back it up with a 60 DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE so try one out, we know you'll LOVE IT!
