They just stopped what has been as long as I can remember, now is is OPEN to 7 PM, 6 BUCKS/Day, or 30 BUCKS for a 30 DAY PASS. Still not a BAD DEAL FOR PLAYING ON A GOLD CROWN!

Think this is a sign of good thing, and the Big Table have just been Re Covered, and HAVE NEW SLATES!

Good. Free pool is a horrible business plan. The favor you do for the public soon gets viewed as an entitlement. Changes most dynamics in your pool room for the worse.

Think if it is FREE it is not apprieciated. Honestly I never understood the FREE POOL, and all the FREE WATER DRINKER, soaking up the Cool Air, on 110 DEGREE DAYS!

Quit spreading false information

It may work for some rooms.
If I took your advice I would give up the $900 to $1300 I take in on "free" pool night. I have been doing it for 15 years and it is the best busines decision I ever made.
And Coco, stay out of the room owner section. Your wisdom is not appreciated where you don't belong. Stick to the main forum.

FYI I started the THREAD! NEWBEE!

It might work for some rooms yes.

If you are a bar and your main source of income in alcohol then that is different. Then you are losing a minority source of your income. Most the pool rooms I know of have too high of % income to survive on snacks or food. Without pool income I would survive on 75 cent sodas, 75 cent candy bars and quarter vending machines. That is on the pool room side. Bars and pool rooms usually have different customer demographics and business plans. I should have been more specific.

That is the point

No matter, I serve beer and wine and have for 35 years. The pool and bar income is about 50/50.
I have 20 tables. Lately only about 12 fill up, even on good nights.

You are doing very good then. In St Louis many rooms have closed. Couple others reduced size. One converted from 12 tables to 4 and made it into a dance club. Tripled his income. We have 17 tables. $1.80 / hour in the day time and still struggle to fill tables. Tough market out there now. Most of our business is retail. Without it we would have folded decades ago. Tonight I did more business in dart sales in 1 hour than I did all day long in pool. Sold one set of darts...lol.
