No taper butts

Recently I was on some American cue maker's site and he was talking
about how he makes his butts straight, no taper.
I can not for the life of me find this maker's website again.

Is anyone here familiar with this person?

I was intrigued by what he said as I tend to like the butt-width on my cues
about 2-3" onto the linen and would like for it to stay consistent from
then on, this is about 1" thick.

If someone knows this maker, or one who makes butts like that please
reply with a name. I'd greatly appreciate it.
I wanted to possibly order a plain-jane and see if this it works in practice,
not just in theory.

Thanks

no taper

I think it's Beroni (sp?) Cues.

They also have kind of a knob on the butt similar to Sailor.

Yep, that's it. Barioni Cues. Thanks a lot.
I should order one from you just for helping me out.
Thanks a lot for your help.

The nose area still has a taper, it's the grip/handle area that stays the same all the way to the knob on the butt cap. He does this to "ensure" comfortability for the player no matter where he or she grabs on the cues grip/handle. The knob works as an anti slip handle for those long reach shots, although I've never had a problem I guess it makes sense. I never did understand how you fit those cues into a case though???

I like this idea very much and now after looking at his website just need to find out how wide the grip area is.
Hope it's narrow as my fingers fit best around 1 - 1.10" diameter grip.
Maybe this is something that can be customized though.

Call or email Mr. Barioni, I'm sure he would be more than happy to accommodate your needs in a cue, it's one of the great things of going custom.

I hear his cues are extremely comfortable to handle and shoot great... One thing that I never could see myself doing is buying his $700 ld "corked" shafts. Then again maybe I would change my mind If I ever tried one.

Yea that 700 dollar shaft ain't gonna happen. I'm perfectly happy with my OB Classic/Kamui Black Soft combo. No need to change that.
But I have always wanted a cue that has a straight butt from the handle down.
I'd get the most basic cues he makes if I order one.
And even that's not that basic at 1400 bucks!!
