Norway Maple

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the wood from a Norway Maple? I'm taking a rather large one down on the property, and noticed that the wood seems really clear. Just wondering if it's worth taking any to my cousin's house an hour away, and run it thru his sawmill machine. Any input appreciated.

I cut two down last oct at my aunt's house so she could put in a car port.
I dont know how it will work for cue's. It does makes great firewood. But i can tell you the ones i cut had nice straiht grain and they have stayed very white while air drying. I would wait till fall to cut though the sap goes to the roots in the winter. If cut this time of year they will take extra long to dry maple seems to take extra long as it is compare to the oak and locust that I cut.

Thanks, Mike, I missed that section when I was searching earlier. I plan on keeping some of the real straight sections to see what I can get from it.
I can't wait till fall unfortunatley, it has decided to start coming apart at the crotch, which endangers our neigbhors house and the other side will hit the street. We had some real bad wind storms this past week, and one side shifted noticibly enough that we had to speed up the removal time.
Thanks,
Dave

Talk to the guys at Bell Forest and see if they'll run some thru the kilm for you, Really good guys. Ask for Eric or Boone.
