Does anyone know what Nubbs Wagner used for his insert looks like one piece ABS thanks,Bill
 
there is what looks like the old linen that was (single black) lighter above the nickle ring and below stainless joint the insert and lower ring (one piece) has no grain or line in it maybe black derlin ?
 
I picked up this cue about 7 years ago my wife use to play with it but now she is playing with one of mine its been sitting in the safe with all of my other old cues so I figured I might make another shaft for it fix the butt that's chipped refinish and pass it on to someone else I just thought I might try to match the original since it was kinda unique Thanks,Bill

I found my good magnifying lens and it doesn't look like any finish below the aluminum ring so I leaning more towards Derlin
