Luat held both his serves and capitalized on ortmann's botched safety attempt on the 2 ball, to lead 3-0.

on rack 4, ortmann breaks....and sinks the 1 and the 7, with a good shot on the 2. he gets perfect line on the three and continues to clear the table, shooting quickly and confidently. score's now 3-1, for luat.

Luat's in top form, moving around the table methodically, and runs out for 4-1, his third break and run out in the match.

ortmann returns with a nice break which results in a good layout....but he flubs the 5 ball in the corner, giving luat the chance to pad his lead, 5-1

luat breaks, makes the wing ball and the one ball, but does not have a clear shot on the 2 which is near the corner pocket but is blocked by the 7. he elects to push and moves the 3 ball to cluster with the 2 and the 7. ortmann turns it over to luat and luat makes a good shot on the 2 while hiding the cueball behind the 3. ortmann fouls and luat clears the table for 6-1.

ortmann sinks the wing ball and gets a good layout on the table....he continues to sink the balls but lands in an awkward place for the five. he elects to go safe but luat has a shot. luat fails to hide the ball completely but ortmann misses the hard but makeable cut on the 5! luat accepts the gift and proceeds to run out, 7-1.
