so far both players have held their serve, 2-1, with efren leading and apancho now on the table....

and he ties the score, 2-2.

the score is now 3-2, efren leading but apancho is looking to tie it all once again....

but apancho misses the one ball! efren successfully pockets it but does not have shape on the two. he attempted a safety and it is not good. (second time he's made a weak safety)

apancho successfully pockets the 2 but he fouls as he moves the 5!

efren, with ball in hand, cleans out. score is now 4-2

Efren dry-breaks! apancho pockets the one but doesnt get good position on the two which he subsequently misses!
 
efren completes the rack without incident, score now a comfortable 5-2.

apancho breaks, makes the 7ball and has a good shot on the 1, but no clear pocket. he misses but pulled off a good snooker. efren's masse goes awry, and apancho now has a clear table...

nine goes down and the score's now 5-3.
 
efren breaks, pockets the wing ball, and gets a clean look at the 1. he opts to pocket it in the corner instead of the side to get position on the 2 on the other side of the table.

the 7 and the 9 ball are stuck together and he successfully breaks them up after pocketing the 6. doesnt get good position out of them though but he manages to bank the 7!

he cleans out and the score's now 6-3.

(meanwhile, peach leads gallego, 7-3. peach needs to win to move on. gallego makes the score 7-4)
 
at 6-3, apancho only needs one more rack to qualify...

and he does it! score now is 6-4. roy apancho become the first player in group 2 to qualify!

efren breaks and runs to get on the hill, 7-4
 
roy apancho, now a lot more relaxed, breaks and runs, 7-5.

(darryl peach is thru at 8-4 over gallego)
 
efren breaks, misses the two, allows apancho to return to the table. roy clears the table, but misses the 9! efren shoots.....and misses the 9 again!!! but it turns out that apancho conceded already earlier so efren wins, 8-5.

(in the interview, he said he intentionally missed the 9 because apancho had already conceded the match after he missed the 9. sorry i didnt get to see that...)
 
I read on the other thread that Apanncho already shook Efren's hand, that means conceding the game before Efren try to pocket and missed the 9. Could be intentional joke for the fans.

both efren and apancho move on to the next round, with efren ahead on points because of games won.
