NYC Pool Halls

I will be visiting New York City for the first time next week. What pool halls should I try to stop at? I might play a little, but my wife will be with so mostly hoping to see some good shooters and the halls themselves.

Thanks

Have fun!!!

Amsterdam Billiards in Manhattan. Steinway Billiards in Queens. You're bound to see plenty of strong shooters (even some pros!!). Just google these pool halls for the addresses.

How long will you be staying? I ask because the World 14.1 will be at Steinway Billiards from 8/19 - 8/24. Right after that is the Steinway Classic which will run from 8/25 - 8/27 and if that isn't enough, from the Ginky Memorial starts 8/31 - 9/2 also at Steinway.

The player lists in these will be sick. I hope you will be around for at least some of this.

Enjoy!

Add to that list Jude Rosenstock's room -- Society Billiards in Manhattan. :thumbup2:

Hey guys, at the risk of hijacking the thread for a second. I've been procrastinating about going to Steinway in Astoria Queens for the World 14.1.

My concerns, (which I did ask about a few months ago, but forgot a few things) are firstly parking. With the crowd expected, do you folks from the area think parking will be a problem?

Second. Is there a hotel near by. I don't care about paying a bit more for a nice place. Walking distance if possible, but neat, safe at night, hold the bedbugs sort of place. :D

any suggestions are appreciated. thanks

I was just up there for an extended stay and on the 2nd leg I stayed in Astoria just so i could go to Steinway at night... I stayed at Sheraton Four Points which is about 6-8 blocks away. Real nice rooms, not too expensive, great skyline.

27-05 39th Ave Long Island City, NY 11101

They even have parking for some cars in the hotel so you can leave your vehicle.
