Hello,
I will be staying with relatives on W. 78th street over the holidays. I know about Amsterdam Billiards and have been there several times. They are only a few blocks away. This time I would like to take a day out and visit other rooms. I am especially interested in rooms that AZers frequent. Also I rarely get to see 3 cushion billiards played so I would be interested in any recommendations for that. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well for starters, I believe Amsterdamn closed down. I could be wrong about that though. I know they are moving locations I just don't know whether the present location has closed its doors yet.

Secondly, if your looking for 3 cusion billiards, take the 59th street bridge to Queens Blvd. and head to Master. Three 12 foot snooker tables, five or six 3 cusion billiard tables and maybe twenty or so 9 foot Brunswicks. Lotta solid players there too.

A better spot for 3C action is the Carom Cafe in Flushing (take the 7 train).

Several people have advised that the original Amsterdam Billiards is closed. I will try the rooms recommended for 3c above. what would would be the closest room now that Amsterdam has closed. My relatives live on W 78th between Columbus and Amsterdam. Oh and nice web site with the Carom Cafe. I may even feel comfortable enough to try a game. It looks like they offer lessons, I may give myself a Christmas present. thanks
