NYC's least known poolroom no longer

Not that it really matters but "Pressure" the exclusive and ritzy poolroom that sat above Bowlmore Lanes in Greenwich Village is no longer. It's now an indoor carnival (http://carnivalnyc.com/). Ironically, I might actually stop by now.

Even though it was only blocks from Amsterdam Billiards, I never actually played there nor do I know anyone that did. I believe it was only open weekends and for private parties.

I nvr even heard of it. How many tables there? Was it primarily a pool room? I'm guessing it was one block over, "behind" the Goth costume store?

It was a beautiful set-up. I want to say they had about a dozen 8-foot Gold Crown IVs with relative private seating on three sides of each table. It opened about 10 years ago and never attempted to draw walk-ins or serious poolplayers. It was there primarily for corporate parties.

I'm pretty certain they were regarded as one of the Best New Poolrooms by Billiards Digest back in 2000/2001.

For a second, I thought you were talking about Slate Billiards. Wasn't even aware that Bowlmor had pool tables, and certainly not listed anywhere in google.

It was basically event space only. I did a few bar mitzvahs there. All 8 footers if I remember right. Probably only about 8 total with a dance floor and bar and buffet space. Won't miss it.
