Nylon vs. Irish linen

What is the difference between Nylon wrap and Irish linen wrap? Besides the point they are two different materials. What I mean to say is which one lasts longer in time?

Good question.
It greatly depends on how one looks after their cue including the wrap.
I have a Huebler that is estimated to have been made in the early 70's.
So its pushing 40 yrs. Other than signs of old age and wear and tear, the wrap still looks pretty decent. I imagine they can outlast the owner if maintained properly.

Nylon is considered low end and most players do not like the feel of it. The cost of replacing a linen wrap is negligible compared to having a wrap you can't stand the feel off.

The nylon would certainly outlast the linen all things being equal. The difference is, the linen is absorbent and can have a more smooth feel. The nylon is not absorbent at all and can have a course feel. I hate it, it even makes my hand feel itchy when it sweats. I would rather have no wrap then nylon, but that is just me.

Reason I'm asking I noticed my Kaiser has some type of coating over the wrap. When I place my left hand over the wrap it feels like there is no wrap at all.
