before we start this noone needs to say go with pred or any other ld shaft, i have made my mind up im getting an ob shaft. so now i just need opinion on which of these two are better for a non pro.

Both are excellent shafts. The OB has a softer hit than the Classic. The Classic feels more like a standard maple shaft to me.Just my opinion. Best thing to do would be to try both and get the one that feels best to you.

Best Wishes,

Steve

Steve is dead-on. I've used both and the OB1 has a tad less defl. while the Classic has a MUCH crisper hit. Try em' both before forkin' the $.

I prefer the classic pro (11.75 diameter) shaft. If I'm not concentrating and hitting the cue ball right you know it. It make me focus more on where I strike the cue ball and the alignment for the shot. Also, you can soften your stroke and get more action on the cue ball without moving to far from center ball hit. I played with the OB team for a few years and could not get use to the ob-2 with the quite hit. As an old school player I play by the sound on contact. When Royce came out with the classic line it fit my style of shooting and been playing with the classic pro ever since!

Different strokes for different folks, so just try them and see which fits you style of play.

Good luck!

I had never heard of the "classic". A while back I ordered 5 OB1's and one classic partials to see how it played. A couple of weeks ago I fit the classic to my personal cue. I played two nights with it and absolutely loved the feel and performance. A few days later a customer inquired about getting a Predator shaft fitted and I told him about the classic. He came over and had me fit the shaft that I had fitted to my cue. I then ordered 5 more classic blanks on 1/3/13. They should be here today and if so, I'll be fitting another one to my personal cue tonight. It certainly does not feel like an OB1 and in fact it doesn't feel like a low deflection shaft what so ever. OB has definitely come with a winner here and once people try one out there will be many converts.
