OB and Predator

I don't get the made in America means good quality.....wasn't it just like 10 years ago that it was a running joke that if it was made in America it would break or it was made cheap? I mean isn't that still the stigma with American made cars? Just saying...

Sure, but American made vs. Chinese made..........usually no comparison.

Although, I'm happy with the 314 and don't see a reason to change.

Nothing wrong with supporting local businesses. But this "made in US vs made in China" argument doesn't usually apply nowadays. iPhones are made in China too. It's all about quality control.

I know of a cue maker whose quick-and-dirty way to measure the alignment of a cue pin is to use a Predator shaft because of how precise that phenolic screw hole is.

I have seen an OB cue that went from a pin-in-the-butt to pin-in-the-shaft after a few months of usage. With that said, OB customer support is superb.

Nope, that is not the case anymore. Especially compared with wood products and furniture, especially pool cues. In many instances, manufacturing has improved over the last decades, including putting out better products.

And you can no longer mention one "country' as having good or bad cars. Just not possible to say Japanese cars are better than German or American. There are a Japanese brands that kick butt... and there are a few brands that are in the bottom of the quality list.

Same with German cars, and the same with American brands. Thus, it's not what country your car is from, but what brand. Toyota and Mitsubishi are NOT the same, so when someone says Japanese cars are the best, it's a false statement. Because, Mitsubishi is not even in the conversation when speaking of the best built cars, not now, not ever.

There are too many highly rated and poorly rated cars from the same countries. Thus, manufacturer means more than place of birth ;)

That being said several recalls for multiple motor companies have been for some of their China plant produced cars. When it comes to craftsmanship, I generally don't put much faith into Chinese products.

It would be really kickass if OB brought in a couple custom cue guys and made some additional lines though.
