OB Classic Plus question

For those that found the response sluggish using draw please respond. I am talking about the classic plus 12.75 mm.

I ordered a 30" classic plus but I'm told OB is well behind. Its been a month but that's not the real problem. I recently tried one out from a friend. I can deal with the LD properties using follow & side spin but draw takes more effort. Its not crisp & responsive in that area. If were on the same page does a firmer tip help the response? The original Everest? is on the soft side. I'm curious if someone used a firmer tip & if it helped?

Its seems the 15% lower end mass comes at an expense. Mainly kind of a hollow sluggish draw response. BTW draw is not a problem with most shafts but this one is an exception. I may cancel this order & buy another shaft. Appreciate your input

Idk I've had both the Old classic and the new plus never had trouble drawing the ball I've always played the everest
 
I actually felt like it transfers a very controlled zip to the ball during draw. Things like tip differences or cue weoght will affect your feeling of your stroke and hemlnce ability to draw ( until you get used to it) but not the ob shaft, imho relatively unskilled opinion. Are you used to a harder tip than was on that shaft?
 
I am use to a firmer tip, also I have to factor in the cue it was on weighed 18.2 oz. I know because I weighed it. These hollow shafts are starting to test my patience. I play with a 314-2 & a firm tip. It zips the ball back pretty good of course it hollow to. I also have a Z2 but its to low of squirt for me.
 
I've had a Classic+ for a couple months now and find my draw results are just as good, if not better than my Pro. I will say that I wasn't much a fan when I first got the shaft and immediately switched back to my Pro. One day I said screw it, I spent the money on the shaft and I'm gonna use it. I'm glad I made that choice because I now prefer the Classic+.

One thing that really helped me was not letting the fact that the shaft was new deter me from liking it. When I committed to using it I stopped comparing it to my Pro shaft. That mentality allows you to really just play, and the shaft and your game will adjust to each other. I shoot with a Milkdud tip, not sure how that compares to the Everest hardness wise as I cut it off the day I got my Classic+.
 
Sounds like there may be a tip issue on your friends Classic Plus...

I also cut the Everest off the minute I got the plus and put a medium Ki-Tech on it so I can't really speak to the Everest other than maybe the tip is delaminating internally which will change the way it compress and decompresses during play....

Any tip you purchase can be defective simply because they are not xrayed and they are made of a natural material... QC does everything it can to keep it from happening but it still does...

I love the Classic Plus and have no issues yanking whitey all around the table... Now if I could just start making the balls all the time when I am playing I would be all set... That's not on the shaft tho.. That's all on my eyes and stroke.... =D
 
Thanks guys I may take a gamble & leave it on order. Never know about the tip, usually I take off about a 1/3 of new tip & play with a m dud. Also my cue is near 19 oz so that may help as well.
If I played several days a week like in the old days I would stick with a stock shaft. However since I do not an LD helps aim in some ways & in some ways it does not. lol
There is always a trade off, no way around it.
