Hey Folks,

I'm just wondering if anyone has a had a chance to shoot with the new OB Classic + shafts. I did search the forums and found a thread from July but since it's been a few months, I'm hoping more folks will chime in with an opinion.

I'm just getting back to the game after a hiatus. I've played with both 314-2s (for a long time) and OB-1 for a short time. I've also tried Ultra-X LD and Mezz WD700 for a few weeks so I have a decent point of reference.

From what I've read, the OB Classic fits the hit characteristics I'm looking for but coming from a 314-2, do the deflection characteristics compare? How far apart are they deflection wise?

I ordered one and had it sent to schon to have them put the joint on. I'm getting it in 2 days and I'll update with my thoughts! I also ordered it as a 30" variant so I'll comment on that too!

I will say I've owned a 314 2 and an ob classic, which has been my shooter the last ~year and a half, and the ob shaft is just a superior product for sure. Hits better, feels better, stays DEAD straight, and ob has great customer service. I'm really excited about my new shaft.

i've got one of the ob1+ shafts and love it. shot with a buddy's ob pro+ and thought it hit amazing as well. I just prefer a little softer hit so i went with the stacked ferrule. i can't directly say anything about the classic +, but the other two of the + line i've hit with look, feel, and play great.

I had a chance to hit them in Vegas, and I think they're a great shaft.

We got to compare the OB-1+ to my buddy's 314-2, the OB deflected less. Unfortunately, I didn't have my Z-2 to compare with the OB-2+. However, OB-2+ hit really well and had very little deflection. I can't say definitively it was less deflection than the Z2.

With all that said, I agree with nob's assessment. If you're looking to pick up a new shaft, don't hesitate to purchase one of the new OBs. If you're wondering if you should upgrade from a current OB product, don't feel like you have to. The new ones are better, but not so much so you should feel a "need" to upgrade.
