Is it possible to change the ferrule to a Juma one. If so how much will it change the hit and LD properties. The stock one feels soft to me and is a chalk magnet. Thanks. Michael

The stock ferrule is LBM, much harder than Juma...

The stock ferrule is mushrooming out. Thats why I thought it was soft. Maybe I will send it in to OB to see why it is mushrooming out. Thanks for the reply. Michael

Cue ferrule

Is the LBM ferrule a "egg shell white color"?
The ferrule on one of my shafts is that color and hits like an ivory ferrule, the feel of the hit is super hard. The shaft is the older maple and as best as I can remember Jim Buss made the shaft.

Contact Bob Dzuricky, and ask him about a material he is using, called Project Tomahawk. I sent him the material, which he now has. I will have more for sale in the coming days. Bob has some supply left right now I believe. It is lighter than Mason Micarta, stronger than Juma, and once finished, should be all but impervious to chalk. It is the real deal, not some import plastic. Bob is planning on using it as his go to ferrule material, unless otherwise requested. He is thoroughly impressed, as is cuemaker Jeff Cole...aka, gmcole, here on AZB. Good luck.

LBM is usually a very clean white colour, but I guess there is variations out there..
It's a very hard ferrule material. If your ferrule is mushrooming, something is wrong. I suggest you contact OB.

I will post up in the cue machinery and supplies section once I get more in, and get it cut. Bob actually now has it listed on his website in the ferrule section. You can see the weight comparisons there.
Regards.

Thanks mate :)

Thanks mate :)

You're welcome. My apologies to the OP. Hopefully you find a suitable replacement material for your ferrule. My Tomahawk is but one option...Albeit a darn good one. If anyone has any more questions about my material, please pm me. I do not want to hijack anyone else's thread.
Thank you.

The ferrule is mushrooming is most likely due to a tenon failure. Call OB cues and ask for Doc he will take care of you. (972)571-9100
