OB cue weight screws

are the weight screws on ob cues reverse thread? I just received a new cue, and want to lighten it a bit. I removed the bumper and shined a flashlight inside it, and can see a screw a few inches in. I tried loosening it with an allen wrench, and it was too tight. I put a pair of pliers on the allen wrench for a better grip, turned it left, and got a slight turn, but it didnt feel like it loosened. So I decided to stop before damaging anything. It says right on their site that you can add/ remove the screws, but i didnt expect it to be this tight. Ill call tomorrow, but figured someone on here would know.

AFAIK you can add/remove wt. to OB's. Its possible/likely they put some adhesive on it at the factory. https://www.obcues.com/care-and-repairs/ob-cue-weight-adjustment/

My OB, two years old, is also standard thread. The bolt may be bound up on wood shavings left in before the weight bolt was installed. I had a small pile come out of mine. Recommend calling them if you want to be sure.

for whatever reason, they put a slightly oversized bolt in there when they made the cue, hence why it felt so tight. They told me I could safely remove it, will just take some muscle. I am now using bolts from my pechauer weight bolt set, and they fit perfectly. They screw all the way in easily, and clearly bottom out and snug up when they hit bottom. I didnt clamp it down for fear of stripping those wood threads, i just snugged it.
