OB Question

Sup fellas,

I'm in a situation. I want to buy an OB 2+ shaft but there would be a problem putting it on any of my current cues - my custom has African Blackwood joint collars (collars wouldn't match up), my Players has a Piloted Joint (OBs are flat faced), I could put it on my Gino Ferarri breaker but I'm just against that haha.

So, I have two options:

1) Buy a cue butt only then buy an OB 2+ shaft which means I'd have another playing cue.

or

2) Have OB modify and OB2+ for me.

Which leads me to my question:

If I send OB cues the wood and joint collar/diameter specs, could they add African Blackwood joint collars in place of their standard implex black joint collar? If not I'll end up buying a new butt (either 3/8x10 or Radial Pin).

Either option works for me, so if somebody happens to have a cue butt for sale, lemme know.

You buy a OB partial shaft, and a local cue maker can match it up to your custom cue. Or you can just play with a mismatched cue? I have both.. the OB shaft was matched perfectly to my Willie Hoppe Pro Model and but the OB shaft on my Schmelke, not so much ;)

You could purchase some African Blackwood on eBay & send it with the cue, so the cuemaker could make a matching collar.

You can some small pieces for 5-6 dollars

You can also put a flat-faced shaft onto a butt with a piloted joint. Many pilots don't even make contact inside the joint anyway.

Send it Guido Orlandi, he lives in Channing, Michigan.

You won't be disappointed, he'll get some African Blackwood for you 906-542-7069
