ob shaft break question

has anyone had any problems or heard of anything about breaking with an ob shaft. Just wondering.

im new to the whole ob thing. and 314 shafts dont break as well as this does imo.
 
i havent done the research on their construction but i was just making sure i didnt destroy it somehow. Also does anyone know if they have any kind of warranty just incase.

For warranty you can check the website or call them and ask them. As far as breaking with it I wouldn't suggest it. The ferrule is made of wood and will not be able to take the stress that a different ferrule can. It might never break at all but why chance it?

I break with mine. Check out my avatar. I took video of breaking with it and went frame by frame. It gets a bit bendy :D but I haven't noticed any warp at all.
 
cool. i didnt know how the ferrule would hold out. plus i dont bend my shaft on the break like u do. im usually breaking from the side and follow through. kinda like archer but not as good obviously.

Cool! I usually break with whatever cue I own. IMO a well made cue should be able to be used in a break shot. If you have a cue specifically made for breaking I would use that instead (in my case I don't).
 
OB & Breaking

OB now has a break shaft and a break cue that can be purchased. I don't have one yet, but I do plan on getting one. Royce was just giving me the details a few days ago.

I have always broke with my OB-1 and OB-2. I have broken a few ferrules. I think what happens is I will mis-hit the cue ball and glance off to the side. On both occassions OB Cues replaced either the ferrule or the complete shaft.

cool. but my shaft is on a sneaky pete and i like to not look like a world beater, cuz im not and it kills small action. just trying to stay sneaky sometimes....

also, how long did it take to break? and was it from miscues only?
