OB1 Shaft For Huebler

Hello I was recommended to ask for cue maker's opinions in this section of the forums.

So I currently have an OB1 shaft for my Huebler with the normal 5-16/18 copper thread insert. I was wondering if getting an OB1 blank and having a cue maker install a Huebler type nylon insert, would this have any type of improvement in playability (Liven up the cue even more)

I Love the performance im getting from the OB shaft just looking for maybe a little more feel to the cue so is nylon better compatible with steel pin then the copper ??? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Even thoughts on wood vs. nylon vs copper, or if it wouldent make a difference.

Thanks

Not being critical here but your thinking is backwards.
A 'more lively hit' will be attained with a brass insert rather than one of nylon.
You were half-right calling it copper in that brass is an alloy of copper & zinc.
A simple rule of thumb is that softer mtrls used in a cue's construction will yield a softer hit.
Nylon is considerably softer than brass.
If you already have an OB shaft with a brass insert, it won't become more lively by changing the insert.

Switch the Everest to something firmer and see if that livens it up enough for you. What you seem to be proposing is duplicating your current shaft verbatim, which is fine if you want a second shaft and have the money to spend. Before spending alot of money try a different tip first.
