Ol' Bill (Calhoun, Tex) Kelleher died with his boots off in Greensboro, NC. Early 2011.
He was around 80.
At some time in his life on the road, he linked up with about every pool scuffler you've ever heard of.
He had been one of those in action at the famous Rack in Detroit.

I first met Calhoun in Dayton in the early 60's. He was a hustler first, last and always! And a pretty good one at that.
Not many people know much about Charlie Jones, but he was a great Bank Pool player, one of the few who could play Eddie Taylor even (and not always lose!). Taylor rated him at the top of the heap, as far as his toughest competitors go.

What's in a name?

Jay,
I ain't so sure that South Norfolk Charlie is the bank player that could challenge Eddie Taylor.
He was 17 years younger than Taylor.
Freddy B. might know.

Charles Jones is a not uncommon name, as you know from experience with Dirty Rotten Lowdown Preacher Red.

Cheers!

EW
