Objectionable shaft grain?

While my wife and I have been shooting with Jacoby Ultra, and black shafts on our Schons, I decided to turn down one of the 3 stock Schon shafts to the 12.7 mm range, and extend the taper somewhat. I really liked it, and although it still had a somewhat crisper hit than the Jacoby ultras, I just liked playing with it, but still used the Jacoby ultras, and my DZ for league, as not only do I think they are still a better shaft, but they are a 30" length that I prefer. So I found a good price on a new Schon 30" and decided to order it and turn it down to try. Shaft came in a couple days but had a objectionable grain to my thinking, compared to my other 3 Schon shafts. Place I ordered from was great and said if I was unhappy to send it back, and if they had any extras they would hand pick one out for me and reship, or would just refund my money. This business is really great to deal with, I am just wondering if I was being too picky about the shaft. I could always just stop at Schon and hand pick one out as they probably had over 100 of them when I was there again about a month ago, but the cost direct from them was apx $70 more than what I got it for, and I was just doing this as an experiment. Looking for an opinion as to what the effect of the grain structure on this one shaft would be compared to what seems to be a flawless grain structure of my stock 3 Schon shafts.

I sure don't like that kind of look in shaft grain, but I've seen it on a few newer shafts.

One or a few sugar marks will have NOTHING to do with how the shaft hits.
You need to decide if it's a "pretty" shaft (in your opinion) that you desire or one that hits well - only you know what "hits well".

Yes, I didn't want to take a chance on the hit of that shaft so I sent it back right away. They had some extra shafts when I ordered, but now are all out. I'll see what they want to do this week, told them I wasn't in a hurry, and had no problem waiting, but they said if they didn't have a replacement, they would probably just close it out. Guess I'll just have to wait till more come in, not a biggie really, at least the dealer has been great as always, to work with.

I woke up in the middle of the night screaming................ my wife asked me what was happening............. I said I was thinking about the grain in my cue shaft........................................... it's a nightmare
