Here is a game that will make 8-ball a bit more difficult in strategy and play.
There are four odd balls in each series of solids and stripes.
1, 3, 5, and 7 in the solids.
9, 11, 13, and 15 in the stripes.
There are three even balls in each series of solids and stripes.
2, 4, and 6 in the solids.
10, 12, and 14 in the stripes.
Whatever ball is the first ball series (odd or even) a player makes in his series (solids or stripes), they must continue with that series before they can shoot a ball from the other series.
For example, if you make an even ball first, you must make all your even balls before you can make an odd ball.
However, you can shoot one of your odd balls to make a combination or carom in order to make one of your even balls.
The same thing happens, in reverse, if you should make an odd ball on your first shot.
If your opponent makes one of your balls, you may revert to your other series in order to start your series over again with the opposite series.
This should make you keep your mind on the game.
