Odd opening break in old video

In a video from Freddy's site linked to youtube, a straight pool mach is started, and the break looks to be shot from well past the second diamond. Did the rules change at some point or was this just an overlooked foul? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxobcdPCYwE&feature=player_embedded

It looks to me like Murphy was at least pretty close to the line if not behind it.

What I would have like to see is what Lassiter did with the break shot at ball 15 of his run (after shooting in his real break shot for ball 13). The video resumed when he was at 56.

You also have to take into account that the camera angle may have been a bit off. It's like watching baseball, the pitch appeared to be a foot off the plate, but the umpire calls a strike.

If the camera was above and only slightly to the rear. It could stretch the perspective a bit, especially with those older cameras that made everything look a little stretched (watch old Honeymooners' re-runs and you will see what I mean).

Just rechecked the video, because the left hand side has that big glare spot, I missed the location of the opposite diamond from the left, though it was the one that is visible. After I cought that, he is lined up on the line.
