Odega vs Samsara Break Tip

Hello everyone,

I am interested in using a new tip for my break cue and would like to seek your advice.

I am currently using a pressed water buffalo tip and would love to change to a harder tip that is leather as well. I am in dilemma as to choosing between Odega or Samsara. I know Odega tips are made out of pig skin and the samsara tips are made out of bore hide, but in terms of playability, can anyone provide a comparison for me?

Thank you in advance.

I don't have any experience with the Odega but my Samsara hits like a phenolic tip. I can't imagine any leather tip that could be harder, and, it's chalks up like any other quality leather tip.

I haven't tried Odega either but the Samsara is excellent! Have one on my Gilbert jump/break and just recently compared it to a phenolic tipped breaker and a g10 tipped jump and the Samsara held its own but takes chalk better than the rest. I can play out a rack with it and get plenty of spin without a miscue...it's rather amazing actually.

Wade did Samsara tips, then left and started Odegaard. Both are good tips, but I prefer Odega. Wade, Odega tips is on AZ and could tell you the differences better than anyone

You should try the Gator. I've had tons of positive response on them. Treated layered pigskin, made in-house by Andy Gilbert, very hard tip but retains grip that helps control the break and also jump shots. Better feel and sound than the Samsara, imo.
