Off Ball Near Side

that's a pretty difficult shot. if i were trying this shot, i'd expect (did i say expect? i meant 'hope for') 1 out of 20 to go in. i think his point is that all of your possible choices are pretty bad on this ball, and you're finding out why. i will almost always play to move this ball before i get to it, any way i can find.

I don't think you read it right. He suggests, kissing another ball off of it, into the side.

I think you misunderstood

He doesn't say double kiss the object ball, you are only making a ball in the side pocket by kissing off the object ball by the side pocket, which in turn makes the object ball you first shot in the side, and breaking out the object ball by the side pocket to begin with.

I recently made a shot that I am proud of. With a 9 ball located within
1/4-1/2" of the tit of the side pocket on the long rail, and I back banked it
into the cross side pocket. I consider this a very hard shot to do, and was very pleased with my shot, especially considering the match was tight when I did it.
 
I think that when he states:
"Also from position "F", on some equipment, a "force through the pocket point" shot is a choice into pocket "1",

What he is really doing is shooting the cue ball into the object ball very hard. This depresses the cushion and the object ball will go straight in the side pocket. Try it with the object ball right on the edge of the tit until you make it and then try it a little farther away (1/8"). If you make it there, then go farther away from the pocket to see the extreme on that table. Even though it doesn't come up that often---it is a good shot to know.
