I had done a guess at a ranking a week ago, not knowing exactly what points system they would use, and this was my top 10:
1. Shane Van Boening 111
2. Scott Frost 102
3. Justin Bergman 92
4. Jeremy Sossei 90
5. Skyler Woodward 74
6. Oscar Dominguez 68
7. Alex Olinger 60
7. Steve Knoll 60
9. Brian Deska 54
10. Josh Roberts 52
The major difference is that Scott Frost dropped two ranks from 2nd to 4th with Matchroom's point system, but is still within two points of second place, which will definitely change after another event. I had Alex Olinger and Josh Roberts in the top 10, but they were hurt by Matchroom counting Derby City more heavily than the Bar Table Champs.
I just wish they would add the World 9-ball in Qatar as a Tier 1 points tournament for Americans. I know it's expensive to get over there for an American pool player, but if we want the best 9-ball players for the US Mosconi Cup team, I'd think the World 9-ball Championship is where you'd want to go to prove you're one of the best. It's in September, plenty of time before the Mosconi Cup and a month before the US Open.
