Ok.. so when is enough.. enough and expectations...

I have always thought a second reputation bar for the person as a buyer or seller would do wonders. That way you just look at the persons name and see how others feel. This to me would be a very simple solution to the problem.Well maybe not simple, but at least a start.

You know, as I read the responses and look at this type of behavoir over the last few years, what's needed is an "I got screwed sticky"... where each party gets ONE post, then they cannot mention it again anywhere. This way, if you are looking to see if someone got a negative response you know right where to go. This way threads don't get turned into a war zone and limits band width degredation.

If it was just TWO people on the opposite side posting in the "I got screwed" thread, then the rest of us can read and make up our own mind.

What gets the thread out of hand, IMHO, is *helpful* posts from other posters taking side and next thing you know, there is barroom brawl.

i don't expect to see perfection in other cues, but i don't want to see sloppiness either. i thought the work done on sore's cue was sloppy and showed lack of attention.

for MY cues, however, i will only choose someone highly respected., and yes for my cues i expect perfection, but here it is up to me to choose the right repairer.

I agree, and have been suggesting this for months now. It would allow for a pos or neg rep, and it would only be viewable by the person being commented about, and not open for scrutiny publicly. Too many negs showing would be a no-brainer. It has GOT to be a better system than the one currently in place.

Nice insight. There are many new or fairly new buyers in the custom cue market with false expectations of "PERFECTION". Custom cues are man-made objects and inherently prone to not be perfect. Even with the most elaborate CNC set-up, you often can't truly achieve perfection. As a seasoned buyer and seller, I don't expect perfection, but when the work approaches that level, then you know you've got something special !!!

Now, when doing repair work, how can you approach your marketing as "nothing perfect goes out the door"? Impossible...the cues you may be refinishing have their inherent problems or issues. Wood and all the other matierials move independently over time. That's just the wrong approach IMO. The work should be done to the best of the CM or repairman's respective abilities, and everyone has varying levels of ability with certain aspects of cuemaking or repair work.

Quality of workmanship is a matter of opinion. If you want to find fault with someones work, you will. If you want to be happy, you will be. In a satisfaction guarenteed or your money back deal, not being satisfied is no reason to go public if you got a refund. Especially in case with dhakala, who got his money back twice.
Sore should of gotten his money back along time ago, and this whole deal should've never been made public.

nothing is perfect, trees are not, so the wood that comes from them can't be......any item is built to a level of quality, nothing is perfect, no materials are perfect, no human can produce something perfect
