Ok guys here I am working at Leisure Time Billiards in Levittown NY and the tables are still relatively empty awaiting the night crowd. So after my more menial yet invaluable duties of cleaning and maintaining the tables and balls, the room etc. I get a little time to myself to practice some straight pool when in walk Stevekur1 and our newest member to the fold the lovely HAKurtz.
Steve decided to bring his HD cam down and is currently on a gold crown trying for a run. Heather is on another table practicing and I am just hanging out supporting.
I have to say the dream of owning my own little room maybe 8 or 10 tables a bar and what not is so strong its scary. I unlocked the door today and walked in to an empty room back lit by the sun streaming through the front window. The room was a little chilly but other than that perfect. As I walked table to table doing my daily routine I could swear I heard balls clanging around the tables and dropping into pockets. Almost awaiting the action that would be....
Just now as I write this the weekend warriors have bugun their migration to the blue and red tables we keep in the back and to their "hidden" favorite house sticks.
The three cushion players are on the tables griping about god knows what as only billiard players can and I sit here in a state of perpetual bliss angered by the fact that in approximately 3 hours my shift is over and I have to leave because I have a wedding to go to.
The premise of leaving my green ocean upsets me. I consider this place a second home and the dream to build my own "home" has started to take hold and Im doing everything in my power to make it a reality.
Well im off to the table to see if i can get a run with Stevie before I have to leave. Have a good one folks.
