anyone have OLD champion tips to sell?

You talking about the ones with the red backers? If so I have'nt seen any in 10-15 years, so would like to know myself. I have some triumph's that have a simular Backer, but the leather looks different, so sure they play different also, and have'nt ever tried them out myself, but have installed them, and some people like them.

Also Chandivert has a tip with the red pad that is called a Champion however they play differently than the Old Champions. Old ones are hard to find and probably 95% of those offered as old are actually the new ones. About 14 or 15 years ago, Sherm bought a box of Champion tips, supposedly the old ones and paid a premium price for them but they were not as claimed.

A friend of ours had a box back then also. There was a group of about 10 of us from all ages & walks of life that use to meet at his house 1 or twice a week to play some friendly racks of 9 ball for practice, then get together, head up to Jacksonville to shoot tournaments ocassionally. Most all of us shot with one of the tips. I was the youngest around 18-19, so probably been more like 17-18 years ago. I seem to remember him mentioning the other tips that were going around also, and how hard the real ones were to find. I suppose it's possible he got a hold of the same ones, but not sure. I did like the tips he had though, which ever ones they may have been. Greg

I have some but unfortunately they are mainly snooker size. I am pretty sure they are the old ones cause I bought them from Dufferin 6 or 7 years ago when they were cleaning out drawers.

They were supposedly made by some Frenchman using his secret tanning solution. Supposed to have been his piss and other ingrediants, this is the reason people are always talking about their secret formulas of Yak piss and such that will make an Elk Master the tip of all tips. Any hoo, when he departed this life so did his formula. This was around 86 or 87 I believe.
