Old cue dried glue

I have an old bar cue that was given to me by a friend that has since

passed away. I would like to make a 2 piece cue out of it but the glue has

dried and disappeard in sections of the splice. How would this problem be

corrected? Whould the cue need to be taken completely apart? Thanks !

It is hart to say for sure, you would have to post some photo's of the cue, that clearly show the area your talking about.
