Old cue w/Dufferin style joint

alot of those old similar cues hit very well and made great bar cues or cues left in your car for the not so great players that just wanted a cue that was better than off the wall.

and why would you put chalk in your pocket and not leave it on the rail. never heard or saw of that until people started with specialty chalk and were afraid others might use it as well.

when a new generation of players in most any sport arrive they seem to be equipment junkies.
old school players came with one cue and one shaft thats it.
in all my years i cant remember one time i needed another shaft with me. or saw anyone else needing one.

Roy Mason lives about an hour away from me. I have only chatted with him a few times, but a great guy. He got the old dufferin stock when they closed up here and has a lot of blanks. I picked up an ebony/maple fullsplice blank off him about 8 or so years ago. Had a local cuesmith finish it with a pred shaft for my wife (no pred decal added). Plays outstanding. Not a true bur sneaky, added a maple ring on the butt, and ss 5/14/16 compression joint. I have a few solid maple shafts i use with it. Pic attached.

I have two of the two piece ebony white flame dufferins, on is warped unfortunately, the other his being converted and i hope to have it back in a bit. But i am highjacking the thread here.
If your cue guy is anything like mine, getting it back in a bit could be more than a month.
