Old Meucci Help

StraightIn

Registered
I purchased this Meucci (MO-2) new many, many years ago. Over time the butt has become warped and when rolled on a table it has a distinct wobble. The shaft is still straight and all parts are original. I put the butt end and joint on rollers and found that the section marked with the chalk measures 0.093" movement with a dial indicator. Can anything be done to fix this issue and is this common with this age of cues. I have a Model I Palmer custom made for me at the same time and it is still straight and plays great. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you say handle are you referring to the entire wood portion of the cue. One other question. How were these cues made in that time period? Did they just stick a solid piece of wood in a lathe and cut to the final dimensions minus the finishing required or were they actually pieced together as most modern cues???

What he meant was the wood under the wrap needs to be replaced, after which the forearm and butt sleeve can be reattached.

If done well with a rewrap/refin,you'll probably not be able to tell it. Tommy D.
